Love Letter – Leadership is a Choice #16
Jessica Soroky continues her series Leadership is a Choice.
For almost two years I have studied The Leadership Gift™ Program, but I’ve realized the last 16 weeks have been the deepest dive I have ever taken into this material. Today I want to share with you a love letter from me to me.
Dear Me,
I have struggled all my days to accept and believe that I am not broken. Even today as I sit here knowing and feeling this material engrained in every ounce of my being, I know I still have moments when I do not believe I am not broken.
I’ve always known in some way that I am meant for greatness, but I never knew it would be me who held the power to determine what greatness looked like and when it was achieved.
I achieve greatness every day I spend doing what I love and loving what I do.
I used to believe that to be fulfilled I must walk the path society laid out – good grades, a good college, a good job, a nice husband, and 2.5 kids living in the suburbs. I never knew that fulfillment could be achieved alone or together because fulfillment lives in me only.
I used to believe that love meant someone else loving me the way the romantic movies always depict – that to love another I must love them more then anything, including myself. I never knew that true love could only start with loving oneself.
I never knew – but I now know the only thing I ever need to know.
My reality is one-hundred percent my choice and one-hundred percent my responsibility.
No matter what I am faced with in this world I have the ability to choose my response. In the beginning my greatest intention was to eliminate my knee-jerk reaction to jump to shame, but this journey has become much more than that. It has become the roadmap to becoming exactly who I want to be.
I am dedicated to the long hours, even longer days, and always saying yes to conversations and opportunities that will create the road I want, the career I want, and the life I want. I am willing and able to do whatever is put in front of me. I rely on and trust my self-awareness and ability to choose instead of obligate.
The Leadership Gift is the tool set I need in order to have what I want and want what I have always.
I have now experienced freedom and power thanks to living at choice, and I am addicted! Even on the days when I think my mind can’t handle any more, or when the evaluations and obligations of the rest of the world seem to be more powerful, I AM STILL ADDICTED. I am still committed. There is no leaving nirvana once you have entered.
Most importantly this journey has evolved to integrating this material into all that I do, and therefore sharing it to all that will listen. This latest evolution includes me contributing back to the community that has given so much to me.
I intend to take the knowledge and experiences I have accumulated and pay it forward through leading mastery groups and mentoring. I intend to find the perfect marriage of experiential learning through gamification and The Responsibility Process™ in order to facilitate learning and application with greater ease because we ALL deserve to live free, powerful, and at choice.
This is more than just a love letter; it is a declaration of my dedication to continue to dive deeper and deeper. Looking in the mirror today I see that this material has been the key weapon to taking my life back and only through constant practice will that weapon stay sharp.
My intentions grow equally as fast as my personal practice. Not only am I addicted, I am in love..
And not just with this material.
I am in love with me!
For the first time in my life I love me, truly and unconditionally. It is this newfound love and appreciation for who I am that leaves me eternally grateful for this program, this community, and every one of the world-wide members who join me in responsibility and contribute to my practice.
Oh how excited I am to see what the future will bring, but more so, I am loving this exact moment here and now.
Love truly,
Me.
