Personal Leadership Skills: Claiming Wins

Back Story

I recently gave a college commencement speech. It was a small college and short speech, only 6 minutes and 30 seconds. I shared a success habit we use in the Leadership Gift Program called Claiming Wins. Skip to 01:19 if you want to miss the Dean’s embarrassment for me. I  followed the charismatic student speaker’s touching story of amazing triumph after tragedy. He described a formerly homeless addict who received a helping hand, earned a college education, and would that day graduate summa cum laude from that university. His speech ended with “I am that man.” Of course there was a teary-eyed standing ovation, cheers, and whistles for what seemed an eternity. As you see for yourself, the Dean need not have worried. Tell me what you think in the comments below.
