Returning to Ashtabula Ohio to Be Honored and to Speak

If you have known me a long time — I mean a really long time. I mean like back to the 1970’s long time. Then this might interest you.

I’ve been asked by Kent State University Ashtabula, a regional campus of the Kent State University system, to attend commencement exercises on May 14, 2010, be honored as the former student of the year for 2010, and give the commencement address. I attended this campus for two years, from 1975-76 and 1976-77.

They are going to throw a reception for me and want to invite friends around Ashtabula. I’m supposed to provide a list of names and addresses by April 3. I’m contacting everyone I know in the area, but I’m sure there are some I am missing. So if you happen to be near northeast Ohio and want to come to the reception, commencement, or both, let me know. I’d love to see you.

There are also Linked-In and Facebook events posted about this.

I lived in Ashtabula for 14 years, from 1963 when my dad was transferred there from New York City, through 1977 when I moved to Bowling Green, Ohio. I don’t return very often. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with some former friends and mentors — like parents of some of my friends and faculty and administrators of my high school and KSU.
